TMI Certificate Installation Tool

The demo screen below shows the Tom Masano, Inc. Certificate Installation tool.

Microsoft Windows XP and Vista both require a Software Publisher's Certificate or Root Certificate to be in place all workstations where the software applications will be delivered.

Microsoft includes numerous Root Certificates with windows, and software developers have the option to purchase for between $400 and $1000 per year, a corresponding Software Publisher's certificate which is associated with the Root Certificates and will allow the custom developed, or web based application to install over the web without incident.

For developers who can not spend the yearly $400 to $1000 fee to tap into pre-existent Root Certificate's that have been included with Windows XP and Vista, developers have the option to create their own Root Certificates and install those certificates into Windows XP and Vista.

Once the custom developed or private root Certificate has been installed, any software application that uses a Software Publisher's certificate that was generated using that same Root Certificate will install without incident.

Jim Aloye has developed a Software Developer Certificate Authority Environment that can be used to generate Root Certificates, Software Publisher Certificates, and corresponding Certificate Installation Software to install those Root Certificates into the end user's Windows XP or Vista operating system as required prior to the installation of software that was signed by those certificates.
